Healthy Eating

At East Tāmaki School, we promote healthy eating. All students should come to school after a good, healthy breakfast. This gives them the energy to start the day. A good breakfast could include cereal, toast or eggs.

Students must bring a healthy lunch to school. Think of a child’s lunch as the fuel that you would put in your car. If you choose the wrong kind of fuel, you will run out of energy before the day is over. Children need to bring a healthy lunch every day.

Healthy lunch options could include:

  • Sandwiches
  • Filled rolls
  • Home made burgers
  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Fruit yoghurts
  • Crackers
  • Cheese
  • Rice/Pasta
  • Plain popcorn
  • Nuts
